Terms of Use

Please read these terms carefully before using the UNIQR Student Attendance System.

Effective Date: January 2026

Welcome to UNIQR, a Student Attendance Management System built by students, for students. This system was developed by CASCSC OfficersKeith Renz D. Romblon and John Rave Arizobal — exclusively for the College of Computing and Information Technology (CCIT) and College of Business, Tourism and Economics (CBTE) student councils and their student bodies. By accessing or using this portal, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use.

1. System Purpose and Scope

UNIQR is a QR code-based student attendance tracking system designed to monitor and record student participation in academic and extracurricular activities. The system serves students enrolled in the following colleges:

  • College of Computing and Information Technology (CCIT)
  • College of Business, Tourism and Economics (CBTE)

The system provides attendance tracking, digital ID card generation, absence appeals, sanctions management, and attendance leaderboards to promote student engagement and accountability.

2. Eligibility and Authorization

Access to UNIQR is restricted to:

  • Currently enrolled students of CCIT and CBTE with valid UNIQR identification
  • Authorized student council officers and administrators

Unauthorized access, account sharing, or impersonation is strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the Student Handbook.

3. Account Registration and Google Account Linking

3.1 Account Creation: Student accounts are created by authorized administrators using official enrollment records. Your account credentials (Student ID and password) are confidential and must not be shared.

3.2 Mandatory Google Account Linking: All students are required to link a personal Google account to their UNIQR profile. This requirement serves to:

  • Enable secure single sign-on (SSO) authentication
  • Facilitate password recovery and account notifications
  • Provide enhanced account security through Google's authentication protocols

3.3 Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Report any suspected unauthorized access immediately to the Student Council or system administrators.

4. UNIQR ID Card and Attendance Recording

4.1 Digital ID Card: Each student is assigned a unique UNIQR identification number and QR code. You may access and download your digital ID card through the student portal for attendance verification purposes.

4.2 Attendance Process: Attendance is recorded by presenting your QR code (physical ID card or digital copy) to authorized scanners during designated events. It is your responsibility to ensure your QR code is scanned upon attendance.

4.3 Attendance Records: All attendance records are stored securely and may be reviewed through your student portal. Records are maintained per academic period (semester/school year) and are subject to the institution's records retention policy.

5. Absence Appeals Process

5.1 Filing Appeals: Students who were marked absent due to valid circumstances may file an appeal through the portal. Appeals must include a clear explanation and may be supported by documentary evidence (e.g., medical certificate, official excuse letter).

5.2 Review Process: Appeals are reviewed by designated Student Council officers or administrators. The decision (approved or rejected) will be communicated through the portal, and the corresponding attendance record will be updated accordingly.

5.3 Appeal Guidelines: Frivolous, dishonest, or repetitive unfounded appeals may be subject to review and possible administrative sanctions.

6. Sanctions and Student Obligations

6.1 Attendance Requirements: Students are expected to attend all mandatory events as determined by the Student Council and college administration. Failure to meet attendance requirements may result in sanctions as defined by institutional policies.

6.2 Sanctions: Absences from required events may result in corresponding sanctions (e.g., fines or community service requirements) as determined by the applicable sanction rules. Sanctions are displayed in your student portal and must be fulfilled within designated deadlines.

6.3 Payment of Fines: Any fines incurred must be settled with the Student Council or designated office. Payment status is tracked within the system.

7. Acceptable Use Policy

When using UNIQR, you agree not to:

  • Share, transfer, or misuse your QR code or login credentials
  • Attempt to falsify attendance records or submit fraudulent appeals
  • Access, tamper with, or disrupt the system or other students' accounts
  • Upload inappropriate, offensive, or unlawful content
  • Use the system for any purpose other than its intended academic function

Violations of these policies may result in suspension of portal access and referral to the appropriate disciplinary body.

8. Data Privacy and Protection

UNIQR collects and processes personal data in compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173) of the Philippines. The information collected includes:

  • Student identification and enrollment details
  • Attendance records and event participation history
  • Google account information for authentication purposes
  • Profile photographs and uploaded documents

For complete information on how your data is collected, used, and protected, please review our Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, design elements, software code, and materials within the UNIQR system are the property of its developers (Keith Renz D. Romblon and John Rave Arizobal) and the CASCSC. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or modification of any system component is prohibited.

10. System Availability and Limitations

10.1 Service Availability: While we strive to maintain continuous system availability, UNIQR may experience scheduled maintenance or unexpected downtime. Advance notice will be provided for planned maintenance whenever possible.

10.2 Limitation of Liability: The system developers and the CASCSC shall not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from system unavailability, data discrepancies, or technical issues beyond reasonable control.

11. Amendments to Terms

These Terms of Use may be revised periodically to reflect changes in the system, institutional policies, or applicable laws. Updated terms will be posted on this page with the revised effective date. Continued use of UNIQR after any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
